Salomon, the world's first 24 - hour runner space, lands in Shanghai

On April 17, 2026, French professional outdoor sports brand Salomon will create the world's first "Runner's Realm: Day and Night Run" runner space in Shanghai from April 18 to April 23. Breaking the established rules, the space will be open all day to explore the relationship between time and running in contemporary life and to co-create a pioneering running lifestyle with runners.

On April 16th, a giant countdown screen appeared at 888 Huashan Road, attracting the attention and curiosity of Shanghai residents. It became a hot topic of discussion on the Xiaohongshu Shanghai local channel, marking the countdown to the opening of Salomon's "Runner's Haven: Day and Night Runners" space. It will officially open to the public at midnight on April 18th and will be open 24/7 on the 18th and 19th, creating a timeless space exclusively for runners, serving as a convenient and accessible hub for active lifestyles in the city.

Salomon's "Runner's Haven: Day and Night" runner's space spans two floors and implements a one-card, two-signature time-linked system: runners use a single experience card to connect indoor space visits and outdoor running activities, which can be used multiple times to record every moment of their self-controlled running. Runners' experience time can be redeemed for a new type of social currency upon check-out, allowing "time earned through running" to create diverse and sustainable value.

Young artist Wang Yi, drawing on his own experiences, created two running-themed art installations for Salomon. In addition, four running groups—Lamfo, Stage2, Glow Running, and Flow—contributed to transforming moments and insights from running into tangible visual art, presenting a true portrait of runners. The space also features gear donated by hundreds of runners, from the mountains to the city, carrying their own stories and those of their running buddies. Runners from various fields gathered to convey diverse expressions of running culture through unique creativity and original design.

Salomon Runners Space precisely addresses the common dilemma of modern urban dwellers being swept up by the pace of the outside world and finding it difficult to have time for themselves. It creates a space for runners to "enjoy the moment and run for themselves" based on their inner desires.

During the event, Salomon partnered with 18 running clubs, including Nice Pace, XSNEAKER, Nian San, SRC, Dark Run Club, Green Tile Run Club, and SGRC South Garden, to launch community activities and urban running experiences. These included diverse formats such as pet runs, butter runs, urban simulated trail runs, and Earth Day and Night Walks, covering four time zones: morning, midday, night, and boundless, allowing runners with different needs to find their own running enjoyment. By creating a third space that blends the city with the mountains and countryside, blurring the lines between day and night, the event encouraged runners to break free from constraints, regain control of their rhythm and freedom, see their true selves in this space, and define their own time through running.
